Aikido

Originating in Japan, Aikido is a martial art built on the foundations of traditional Jujitsu and feudal era Samurai weapons, swords (bokken) spear/staff (jo) and dagger (tanto) with throws and movement closely related to the sport Judo. While modern Jujitsu starts on the ground, Aikido strives to avoid the ground by redirecting an opponents energy instead of meeting force with force. Aikido develops practical self-defense skills, balance, and calm control through empty-hand and traditional weapons training.

Tai Chi and Qigong

Originating from ancient China, Tai Chi and Qigong (chee-gong) blend deep breathing and slow movements to heal the body and mind. Tai Chi emphasizes the practice of slow motions for the purpose of self defense application that flow naturally with one’s breath, while Qigong focuses on creating perfect wellness by harnessing energy through conscious breath work. Both arts are practiced with the general goal of improving health and well-being. Everything in Tai-Chi comes from Qigong.

MFR

Myofascial Restrictions can distort the structure of the body. These distortions can put pressure on nerves and result in great pain. MFR is designed to release the fascial restrictions and can aid both in eliminating chronic pain and in restoring range of motion from overwork, injury or trauma.
